Tried a G-Bar for my second SE shave

I understand why so many guys like these things. I did a 2-pass shave WTG and ATG instead of my usual 3-pass, but still had no irritation and got a very fine shave! Blade angle also seemed to be more forgiving than the 1912 I used for my first SE shave, but that could all be in my head.

My only complaint is that the G-bar handle seems a bit oddly shape(kind of oval vs. the round Gillettes I normally use) and a little slippery for me.

What should I try next? I still have a Featherweight, an OCMM, and a Clog-Pruf that I haven't tried.

OCMM would be my choice, not that either one of the others won't give you a great shave. A bit of caution is advised as it can bite if your attention wanders.

wet your fingers and rub lightly on an alum block - that should help with the slipperiness.

I too found the 1912 a bit aggressive compared to the G-Bar. I love the G-Bar!

congrats on learning that wetshaving is not just about DE's.

I'd suggest the Clog-pruf. The OCMM is not a razor to be trifled with and the Featherweight is, IMO, a toy. Of all my SE razors, it's my least favorite. Of course, YMMV, andthe Featherweight may turn out to be the best razor in your arsenal.

The clog pruf is one of my favorite SEs. Not that the mmoc is that mean. Infact if you are careful enough it is great, but the CP is slightly more refined.
The featherweight is very similar to the gbar.

Thanks for the tip about the alum. I actually don't own alum or a styptic pencil. I haven't really had a need for them yet, but I suppose it wouldn't be bad to have some around.
