My father lives in the upper peninsula of Michigan and has well water on a softener. The water is not high in iron or calcium, but lime. I wondered if there might be a 'soap sage' able to tell me if my MWF or Cella will lather, or do I need to consider another soap for my trip?

If he has a softener, and its working properly, Cella will lather just fine.
Cella will be just fine. MWF may be harder. Or use distilled or bottled if you have issues.

Thanks for the info. Normally I wouldn't bother shaving while I was there. But since I started DE shaving I don't want to stop!

I prefer to use hard soaps with my (unsoftened) well water, but I don't remember having issues with Cella back when I had a tub. Just be prepared to load the brush more or reload between passes if the lather is not what you're used to. No experience with MWF.
