Travel shave kit and business travel

How does someone travel with a DE razor on an airplane? I might have to travel for my company and I don't want my razor taken from me.

From recent experience, they did find the razor in my carry-on and did check it to make sure there were no blades. I'd mailed some ahead, which was cheaper than paying to check my luggage. It would have even been cheaper to buy drug store blades when I got there, and throw away the unused ones or mail them back to myself. I wouldn't worry about them confiscating the razor itself, but if you have more than one, you might not want to take your favorite.

Just went to indinapolis from Tampa. They took 4 derby's from me. I was furious. At least they didnt take the KY.

Whenever I travel I always carry a smaller suitcase which I check in. My shave gear is in my dopp kit. That way I'm sure of always having what I want for shaving with me. I know its a bit of a pain to check bags, but there's never a problem that way, and its only a few min. longer getting on your way. :001_rolle

I travel for business constantly. Most of it is several days in duration so I have to check a bag due to change of clothing etc anyway.
You have to have some modicum of comfort, even when away from home, so bring the whole shave kit, it really helps make the stay in a hotel just a little more bearable.
If you travel long enough to have to shave, why not take a change or two of clothes just in case, and something comfortable to wear at the hotel?
I don't want to wear my business shoes all day and night, so a spare pair goes in as well.
If you are checking a bag for the shave gear anyway, it's a great excuse to avoid jamming everything under the sun into a tiny carry on.

What they said, blades in chacked bag only.
Full sized shave gear for the great shave while away from home.

I have started always checking my bag, it is just a pia when you're late and cannot find a spot for your carry-on because every bin is filled. But then, when I travel I always use a cartridge razor anyways.....

(all is well, Soapbox; your colleagues have internalized both the wiki page and the practicalities of air travel with non-cartridge shaving gear)

I travel with an injector (week or less) with a fresh blade loaded. Never had any problems with airport security/scanning.

Please explain how you ever thought it was possible or permissible to carry razor blades onto an airplane in this day and age.
