Travel gear thread

This is what I took with myself when travelling abroad like Mexico & Spain and I was not short of anything. The small bowl was not really used a lot but it was still a great choice because its metal. You do not need a lot to feel good with a decent shave. A milder razor is a good choice like a RR-SLOC or RR-old type because who needs open abrasions in different tropical settings in strange countries IMO. Make sure to discard spent blades in the back of this type of blade tuck so room cleaning staff don't get cut.

Have some great shaves!
Sweet. Very similar to my kit. Arko and Rockwell brush in spice containers

I’ve been trying to minimalize my travel kit. Right now it is fairly crude, a project in motion.
I shave with a pre-war Gillette Tech and ‘37 Gillette New heads with the New handle.
Bottles are homemade preshave oil and Thayers unscented witch hazel.
Brush is a Vulvix 1000A pure badger (soon to change).

For about as long as I remember, my travel set-up has been an electric razor. Not my favorite way of shaving by a long shot but it always worked for me without issue.

What kind of affordable recommendations for a synthetic shaving brush do you have? <$25 I do own an Omega 50014 and I do like it, it is a boar brush. I wish it was a synthetic so that it would dry quicker.

I live in hot/humid and most of my travel to/is hot/humid. I don’t like synth and travel with a boar or badger. If your brush Container can breath, and that’s in a bag/storage that can breath, mine have always been fine. I’ve even forgotten to take the brush container out of my dopp when I get home, and they’re fine.

Maybe don’t use a brush then pack it up on a travel day if it’s a serious concern. I use a stick to face lather on the road and have used my hand to lather up once it’s on my face as well.

Yeah maybe I can just stick with my boar travel brush that I have. I have been using it and I make sure to take it out when I get home to let it fully dry. The brush I have has a big hole in the case it goes into so maybe I'm just over thinking this whole thing. 🤔

I tend to overpack my shave gear. I usually take 3 or 4 razors, a few soaps and AS. However, I spent all of May trekking in Italy 🇮🇹. I needed to make my kit as compact as possible to minimize space and weight in my backpack.
Here's the shaving kit, laid out and packed and my complete Hygiene kit for the trip.

I travel with a Bic disposable and that’s it. No brush, no soap, no aftershave. I would never take a razor I cared about on an airplane and I can’t wrap my head around mailing my blades ahead to the hotel. Wow.
