Travel brush suggestions for a boar guy?

Hi gents, I'll be traveling for several weeks this summer, and am thinking about picking up a suitable brush for the road. My daily driver is a Semogue 620, and I face lather exclusively. Although I started wetshaving with a badger brush, I've migrated to boar because I much prefer the stronger backbone and stiffer bristles. In fact, I considered just taking my 620 with me on the trip, but it turns out the only pill bottle I could find that will fit it is just ridiculously huge, which isn't too appealing. So I'm hoping to get some advice for a travel-oriented brush that has somewhat similar characteristics to the 620. I know the mighty midget is generally well regarded in this community, although I'm not too clear on the functional differences between the all boar Omega #40033 (wide waist) and the mixed badger/boar #11047. Any thoughts on these two, or other brushes you guys would recommend?

I have used and still keep in rotation the Omega 40033, wide waist. It is a true travel brush and would fit in just about any small tube or bottle you could find. Even though it is small it does not skimp on usefulness and feels like a much bigger brush on the face than its size would indicate. This one is around $15 shipped.

Another one that does a great job, IMO, is the Omega 11137...Great ergonomics, great latherer and a great price. It's a tad more expensive at around $20 shipped, but it's such a joy to use that the added cost is worth it. It is a taller brush, though...

One other brush worthy of an honorable mention is the Semogue 1470 or 1460, sort of a smaller knot, but just performs so wonderfully that you really cannot tell. It's a smaller footprint which would fit into a tube easier than the other two and at one time was my go-to brush. This was the brush that changed my mind about boar brushes! This one is around $16 shipped also!

Good luck!

I just bought the Omega 50014 travel shave brush, which I am in the process of breaking in now. This might be just what you are looking for. It is a boar bristle brush that is in the "turn around" style, so you won't need an extra case, or pill bottle to store it. Don't let the in-expensive price fool you, approx $15.00. I have yet to put it in transit but have been using it at home so it will be ready for my first road trip. I mainly bowl lather at home but face lather on trips using an Arko Stick. I've been breaking it in both ways and it performs like a champ.

I love my 40033 wide waist, it is in my everyday rotation and my travel brush. I would suggest taking a look at the Omega 10290 also. I am a face latherer and both these brushes excel at it.

I have both the Omega MM 11047 and (my latest from about three weeks ago) the Semogue 620. While I realize the 620 isn't completely broken in yet, I actually prefer the 11047.

Thanks for all the suggestions, fellas. Based on these recommendations, it seems like it might be a good time to pick up an Omega (although that cherry handled Semogue 1470 sure looks pretty...). Again - many thanks for your helpful advice!

I like boars a lot and currently use them at home more than badger. But, when I'm on the road I usually take a badger. This is because I Find that boars just take too long to dry to be practical. Just my experience.

. . . .
and this is the only advantage that I find the Omega #11047 mixed badger/boar has over the Omega # 50014 travel shave brush. The # 11047 dries much faster because of the Badger component.
