Transition anxiety

GEMini nearly over and my neglected DE razors refuse to speak to me any more.
I've been 100% true to the SE for the last month.

I probably need to re-learn how to use a DE again. I figure on starting mild - like a low setting Slim or a Blue Tip SS.

Anyone else have trouble transitioning between one type of razor to another after an extended period of use of just one type?

Kind of- I just started using DE after years of cartridges and disposables! I had much anxiety after reading about the proper ways to use a DE, but after two shaves it seems like shaving is shaving.

I used my Progress for a straight week, I then used a regular ball-end Tech and got some irritation because the Progress' angle is a bit more shallow to that of a Tech.

Everytime you switch gear, it takes a learning curve to get back in the groove again.

Your DE razors will love you again. Just give yourself a day or three to re-practice your technique, and everything will be fine.

I felt like I had to relearn the angles of my DE after spending 6 weeks or so of only using SE's. I will never use just one type of razor again for as long as I did, unless that particular razor becomes my only razor. Until I find that, I will be keeping to my regular rotation.

On the positive, it is sort of like riding a bike, I was back to full swing of DE's within a few days.

I bet you have a 1898 La Buerre Du Fin de Siecle with Niobium plating for that very purpose.

Didn't DE shave until today.

Broke out the 40s SuperSpeed to play it safe and was rewarded with 4 pass BBS with usual irritations spots.

Update:
I am getting nice shaves out of a Superspeed with only 2 negatives.....


I miss the sound of each individual hair being cut.
I keep forgetting that a DE has two sides.
