Trail camera

Well, it works...though the digger either hasn't been capture by the cam, or didn't visit over the last 24 hours. All I got was the deer (and every car, pickup, golf cart, ATV, and Fed Ex truck that passed on the street).

Very pleased, this is exactly what I wanted, and under 45 bucks.

Thanks to @nemo and all whou replied.

You should enable the info at the bottom. It's helpful for later to see the temperature, date, time, moon phase.

Update 2.0:

The camera works, and I have gotten (somewhat annoyingly) hundreds of pics of my wife, our dog, myself, deer, stray cats, and rustling leaves, but no sign of the digger.

I went out today and found 5-10 fresh holes in the lawn and eagerly grabbed the SD card from the camera and found...nothing.

Not sure what's happening.

I'm guessing it is a very small critter (chipmunk, squirrel) that doesn't have the size/mass to trip the camera sensor.

I have the camera low to the ground and aimed directly at the target area and it's capturing everything but the culprit.

Weird. I wonder what your digger is.
I've got the sensitivity set in the middle on mine, can pick up birds hopping around at 10 ft.

Haven't got a mouse yet, they're probably not out in the forest.
Picked up a skunk early this morning.

I need to check the sensitivity setting, mine is currently set to the default.

I have an older camera that cannot be programmed only to work between X and Y hours…either it’s on or off. Got plenty of films of me mowing the lawn or snowblowing, so I made a cover to put over the camera when I know I will be in front of it for a while. It is the shape of a paper lunch bag but made it out of duck tape to be weatherproof…just don’t forget to take it off when leaving.

Setting it higher and aiming downwards could help limit the area you want to focus on. I’ve had some cameras with slightly clunky triggers that will either work better in video or in picture mode.

Maybe your holes are made by the same forces/creatures that make crop circles :biggrin1:

Oh no, in

That's a great solution.

Yeah, I'm working on that now. I put the camera lower, and on a tripod so I can change the "tilt" angle.

Oh no!...invisible (or REALLY fast) aliens. Yikes.
