I'm comparing the relative market values. I've also got a Feather and agree they aren't in the same universe in terms of shaving characteristics, but the point of my post is that if the build quality of the Feather commands $179.00, then the build quality of the Tradere would seem to warrant a much higher market value, so I expect their value to hold and improve.
I'm also looking forward to the Tradere SB/Feather comparison. Richard says the SB will be available end of August so we don't have long to wait.

quick question: did you try using the razor with the handle from the Open Comb? I'm curious to know if the new handle really makes a difference -

I'm using it with the handle that came with the Open Comb. The new handle isn't available yet.

There were 207 razors engraved. A few were rejected by the factory or us for QC reasons, so there are ~200 plus a few prototypes in existence. I asked them to do a 10% overrun, but they made as many as they could with the materials they had ordered. The solid bar is model SB, so the first razor coming up will be SB-00208. The open comb is model OC, so when the bottom plates are made they will OC-00XXX and will just pick up wherever they come in the engraving queue. At the end of 2012and each year thereafter, I will post and put on the web site the numbers made through the end of each year. I decided to go this way so folks would always know the year in which their razor was made and that each of our machined razors will have a unique serial number. So, for example, there will never be another 00171.

My Tradere should be one of my best razors in my collection (209 pieces). But I feel, that HE is too aggressive for me. All my other stainless steel razors are better friends (Lux, Ikon, Feather, Pils, Weber).
