What's new

Torn between two lovers!

Ok guys, I'm in a quandary. I love Bay Rums. I also love the Veg, or it loves me. It's spring time in Mississippi. Cool mornings, warm days. Perfect Veg weather. But I don't think I can give up my Bay Rums until cool weather returns. But I hear the Veg calling! Hath the Veg no mercy?? Seriously, does anyone change scents according to the season?

I wear what I want when I want, dagnabbit!!! (Except for Mondays, when I do what I'm told by you guys and wear Old Spice). Seriously, I understand wearing different aftershaves for different seasons, but it's SOOOO subjective! Some people say VIBR is a great Summer scent, while other people say it's perfect for Fall. I feel it smells like Christmas! Others say lime/citrus smells good in the Summer, then again I'm noticing a lot of citrus trees are ripe right now, so couldn't it be a Spring scent? For some reason, I've been wearing Pinaud Special Reserve on Fridays and The Veg on Sundays. Why? I dunno. Because I want to?! I do think I will relegate Osage Rub to the Summer months, though, what with the big face freeze and all that. Now watch someone else say Osage Rub is perfect for Winter!

I'm in the "Wear what you want" camp generally, but I have found that during the warmer season lighter scents generally work best for me. What with the increased heat and sweating, a really heavy scent can get a bit overpowering--and you probably won't know it because it will have faded in your consciousness. (Obligatory YMMV message will commence in three... two...)

Actually, I wear Bay Rum, Old Spice, Gray Flannel, or the Veg year round. But Gray Flannel is a winter scent IMHO. The rest will work anytime for me.

The VEG won't let go of me, at the moment, but when it does I'll rotate scents.

I have a feeling the VEG will tell you when to use it as well :)

The Veg and my bay rums are constants. I use them all year 'round. I also use mentholated ASes winter and summer. So I guess I'm not weather-driven in my choice of AS.

Why does bay rum need to be a cool weather scent? Bay rum is good year round. I actually think it is more of a summer scent anyway, because the scent makes me think of a tropical island and warm weather.

Well if you are gonna twist my arm!!!

So for changing topic but why do people change products for different seasons?
My thinking only extends to balms vs splash.
In the cold weather I use balms to keep the winds against my face at bay. Rather than a splash of AS with its high aalcohols e those winds there is def a difference which it makes.
Now for the cologne/AS debate spring summer I would prefer a citrus type smell rather than a heavy smelling AS. But this could be me just over thinking the process. No harm in wearing what u want when u want.......or is there?

I solved that problem by getting rid of all my aftershaves except the bay rums. My quandary every shave for the past year has been which bay rum.
