Can you comment on Spanish Leather and Eucris? I’m interested in both.
Spanish Leather has rose, spice, vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood. Somewhat reminds me of Cussons Imperial Leather (hand/body) soap.
Eucris is dark and complex; includes sandalwood, oakmoss, musk, spice, fruit, flower, green element...
With another 10 years of shaving under my belt, here’s an update:
Musgo Real Classic
Shulton Old Spice
TOBS St. James
Coate’s Tea Tree
Acca Kappa 1869
Surprised no one mentioned godrej menthol. This thing is my holy grail.
1 AOS unscented
2 AOS lemon
4 St. James of London: Sandlewood & Bergamot
5 St. James of London: Black Pepper & Lime
6 St. James of London: Mandarin & Patchouli
7 Acqua Di Parma
The two I couldn't go without are # 6 and 7.
Is it the scent or the performance?
Performance for all of Penhaligon's creams is excellent. I prefer Endymion's scent over all others.
Have you seen Sohan or Halfeti?
No, but I haven't gone looking for them either. The base formula for the creams performs very well. If you like the scents, I expect that a cream based on those scents would be very good indeed.
Those seem to be my favorite of the group that I’ve sampled.
When did proraso red get discontinued?
I've only used Cremo so far so that's my sole entry.
Trumpes rose or violet.
Taylor's rose or lavender.
For budget creams, nivea in the blue tube.
I really like, in no particular order,
- Cyril Salter Almond
- Hemingway Accoutrements
- Castle Forbes Lime
- Antica Barbieria Colla
- Santa Maria Novella
I don’t think I have any other creams...the rest are soaps!
