I don't understand . . .

I put my "pin" in the day I signed on. On the normal or first view that includes the entire U.S. the pin shows to be somewhere east of El Paso. As I continue to zoom in, then it gets toward Lubbock.

I think that my pin is close to my home - but I didn't zoom in close when I put it there so I wouldn't want to wager much on it being really accurate.
