Top 5 Aftershaves?

I’ve posted on this thread before but, sitting here today, I would name two aftershaves above the scores of others in my den:

Chatillon Lux
Maol Grooming

The CL aftershaves all have wonderful scents, and my favorite three-season face feel (except winter). Maol is my favorite winter AS (in the non-menthol version), as it’s as “balmy” as any alcohol-based aftershave I own (or even my balms). My only issue with CL in the winter is the menthol can be a bit “cold” on my face. (But, of course, that’s why he makes, or at least used to make, salves.) My only issue with Maol is that the scents aren’t as special to me.

There are bunches of other great aftershaves, from Aqua Velva or Skin Bracer, to Derby City Chop Shop or Sebum Gold. These are simply the two that I find myself reaching for more than the others...

1. Fine - American Blend
2. Proraso Green
3. Stirling - Barbershop
4. Henri et Victoria - Cuban Cigars and Cognac
5. Tabac

I'll update my favorites: In no particular order:
Tabac
Fine American Blend
Speick
PAA Classic Bay Rum
TOBS Sandalwood
PAA Santal Absolut
Yes, that's six, and I have two Floids on order, so we'll see how much I like them!

I love the face feel from Chiseled Face and A&E Splashes best

Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber
A&E Revolution
Avon Island Lime
Aqua Velva
Skin Bracer

Stirling- Sharp Dressed Man
Classic Old Spice
Captain’s Choice- Cat O Nine Tails
Witch Hazle
Stirling- Executive Man

I have only 4 AS's that work / get better each time I use them:
  1. AV Musk - Powdery/Vanilla dry-down and great skin feel. Great for wintertime
  2. Brut - Clubman-esque yet lighter / more herbaceous with less cloying sweetness
  3. Speick - Skin nourishment at its finest, too bad it doesn't last/project
  4. Pinaud Bay Rum - Who wouldn't love smelling like a pirate?

JCarr

More Deep Thoughts than Jack Handy
1) Bootlegger's El Dorado
2) Bootlegger's Bay Rum
3) Pinaud Whiskey Woods
4) Atomic Age Bay Rum
5) Colonel Conk Bay Rum

I have just over 30 splashes and balms. These are current standouts but I wouldn't give up the others either.

WM Neumann splashes- Many scents
Truefitt and Hill -balms not splashes
Krampers Frost bite
Chatallion Lux - Just 3 scents
Myrsol Emulsion
Eufros Rosa Bourbon - Not sure if this is in production. I know Manual has a sourcing problem with the oil for the shave soap. I assume it applied here as well?

What a difference for me the last year or so.

Now I just use:
Chatallion Lux, Krampers, Maol Grooming and Tallow and Steel Splashes. I only use ABC balm.

Stirling- Sharp Dressed Man
