top 3 DE blades

No, all three shave differently, though the IS and Gillette Yellow are pretty close.

Which 3 are the best? What are the criteria? I'd guess perhaps for the average user, in terms of sharpness and smoothness, the Iridium, Gillette Yellow, and some other blade. Personally, I get the best shave from the Bic Platinum.

Right on! glad to see the bic platinum getting some love. my top 3:

1. super iridium
2. Gillette Bleue extra
3. Bic platinum

My top 3:

Gillette 7O'Clock green (India)
Astra SP
Derby Extra

Worst 3:
Treet something or other (not black beauty)
Bolzano Titanium (made all the worse by the price)
Wilkenson Sword (German)

1-Gillette Black 7 oclock (made in india)
2-Super iridium (made in Russia)
3-Perma-sharp Super (made in Russia)

Shark Super Chrome. Once I tried these nothing really measures up for me, and I have come to the point to stop really trying others. YMMV, but for my shave it's SSC's.

Best:

1. Israeli Red pack Personna;
2. Astra Platinum
3. Crystal +

Worst:

Sharps-NOT
Merkur
Gillette 7 a.m. (not 7'0'clocks from India) these are from Bangladesh.

Best:

1. Israeli Red Personna
2. Astra Platinum (the smoothest, hands down)
3. Iridium Super

Worst:

1. BIC (I don't remember which BIC, but it was rough)
2. Merkur

Most finicky for me:

1. Feather
2. Bluebird

I either get a BBS or a War Zone with either. I imagine it's entirely my fault, but both seem to be very dependent on technique and I'm ... variable.

I have sampled a bunch of blades seeking el perfecto. I can't really complain about any of those I've tried. I don't know which three are best after Feathers. I do get the closest, most effortless shaves from Feathers, but after one or two I get irritation using them. At times, I would rank Iridiums and IRPs next. But, lately, I like the Stainless Sharks. They are far from scary sharp, no irritation, no nicks, just very comfortable 4-pass shaves. And, it takes 4-passes, but then shaving is a preferred activity for me. I have used one blade five days, but usually swap after three or four. They are cheap.

1. Medical Personna's by far, sharp, smooth, and last for six or seven shaves for me.
2. Astra SP
3. Irridiums

But what do I know, I hate Feathers!
