Too Good To Be True?

I was just cruising the bay when I saw this amazing BIN for a Blue Tip SS, so I jumped right on it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320598241297&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Then almost immediately after, I get this message from the seller:

Hello , I am verry sorry but I just listed this razor and it was NOT supposed to be a buy it now it was supposed to start for $4.99 auction ,,, I am refunding all of your money right now , and again , I am very sorry ,,, Thanks for understanding

:glare:

You purchased the item at the price he set. Mistake or not, the deal was completed. If you wanted you could throw a fit to Ebay. That is a pretty clear violation of TOS as far as I can tell.

The market value of good will and good feedback is really quite low, it would appear. $10-$20?

Completing the deal would have been a cheap lesson in getting things right the first time.

Well, I sent the seller a message saying that I want the razor. This person has been at eBay for over 6 years with 462 sales, so he should know what he is doing when he lists an item.

I know people make mistakes, but who doesn't check their listing before posting it? If you want to blindly throw it out there, then suffer the consequences.

It's a pretty obvious error; In the gentlemanly spirit, I'd let this one go. I can't see any upside to the seller in being deceptive, and it's doubtful they would anticipate enough repeat business to make up for the loss later.

Edit: And by "let it go", I mean accept the sellers apologies, and move on without a fight.

I would agree, I would let it go. Blue tips are too mild for me anyhow
