What's new

Tomorrow I graduate from high school

Tomorrow morning I am graduating high school and, as my father puts it, "starting my journey in the real world". I cannot believe that high school came and went so quickly. It seems that just yesterday I was a freshman.

I plan to go to UNC Charlotte next year and double major in accounting and German. What I am most nervous about is the step up in difficulty. I did well in the honors and AP classes I took in high school, but still...

My mother asked what I want as a gift. She then looked at me viewing an SOTD thread and just slowly walked away  She eventually asked me to list a few brands of creams and soaps that interest. I only listed two or three, but she went a little overboard (maybe that's a good thing in this case :w00t:) and got me this. I have to wait until tomorrow to use it, though :frown:

Here I am with cap and gown (my high school colors were red and white, so the blue is kind of out of place):

Congratulations!!!

If you think High School went by quickly, wait till college.

And you'd better give Mom a big hug because that stash will keep you in shaving cream till you're 30!

Congratulations on you graduation! I would have never guessed you we such a young man by your participation.

Best of luck tomorrow and have a great time. :001_smile

Thank you for the kind words guys.

I am sure my friends would be suprised that I asked for shaving cream and soaps for my gift.

You deserve the kind words: for graduating hs-a man should always finish what he starts(which you've done) and a man should always respect his momma(which you are doing.)

We aren't surprised because you're maturity level is definitely higher than theirs-see what hanging out with old coots can do for you!

Now all you have to concern yourself with is learnign what your instructors/professors(in college they are no longer teachers) assign you. yes, it will be difficult, but if you can handle cold steel in the morning b4 being fully awake, you can handle what they dish out.

Hi there,

Nice job graduating, and a great haul!

I was expecting to see maybe 4-5 shaving items you received as a present, but that picture proved me wrong. Heh, what a GREAT selection of excellent products. Your mom did her homework too...........

Very nice stuff,
Martin

Congrats. Dont worry about the diffuculty. College is harder than high school but your smarter, more prepared, (hopefully) more mature lol, etc. So you will b fine

Congratulations! On the graduation and the score

BTW, I majored in Accounting, and I loved. FWIW, consider taking enough science classes as electives to give you the requisite science courses to go to medical school. Even if you no intention of ever using science, that may change. Even if it doesn't change, you'll be very marketable. Trust me when I tell you that what you are interested in very well could change several times. However, an accounting degree with a good science foundation will put you in great position for employment (in numerous industries not just accounting) at the end of the journey.

The bottom line is I know a lot of guys that were totally geared towards one or the other (business or science) and many regret that. I sure do.

Best of luck.

Congratulations!!! You've come to the end of one journey and the start of another. I see great things in your future. Godspeed on your new adventure.

I took a high school accounting classes and loved it. I'm sure it gets much more difficult, but I did enjoy the basics.

I appreciate the advice. The only problem is that I am terrible at science. Biology was ok. Chemistry was difficult. Physics was impossible. I barely pulled a "C" in honors physics.

I will heed your advice and try to take some science courses. I will probably have time to because I'll be done with German quickly because I'm fluent.

I also heard that business majors should make sure they take a few writing courses and a few philosophy courses in case they decide to enter law school. What do you think?

You guys aren't that old

So says the kid that just graduated from high school. You been shaving peach fuzz for the last few years for cripes sakes!

Anyway, congratulations on the achievement. I wouldn't worry too much getting your undergraduate degree is easy, it's the graduate degree that will almost kill you. I speak from experience here!

Your mom seems impossibly awesome.
Youre going to want to bring your Ipod to the graduation ceremony, the joy wears off after the first hour of speeches. least it did at mine.:tongue_sm
