Today's Toggle

As Toggle prices spiral upward (one went for over $100 on the Bay today), I'm glad I got mine a month ago...Took this picture installed on a snappy stand, complete with a black badger re-knotted brush:thumbup1:

Very nice! If I hadn't found one at an antique shop, I don't think I'd ever own one. Normally, I don't even care for yellow gold much. But the Toggle is just such a neat razor that I have a hard time parting with it. Maybe someday when RAD calls me elsewhere, I will. But for now, I sure am glad to own one.

Soooo bad? "How much" you want one is a question only YOU can "afford" an answer to.

Pretty simple, really!

Still looking for that elusive (affordable) shave grade toggle....brassy is fine by me...I just can't afford a nice one....Missed a few on the BST by minutes....someday....

What's the difference between the Toggle with a red dot versus one with a black dot over the position indicator on the adjuster knob?

Show us more pics! That looks to be in pretty fine shape!:001_smile

Sorry, but all the number paint is gone, and there is wear on the doors/guards....

Guess I'll have to live with it....darn gold/lacquer finishes!:cryin:

It would never make the cut for a "Cedar People" Auction:lol:

You are shaving with a Toggle...How many folks can say that.....Don't worry about the finish, just enjoy the ride.

F-4, as this was the only code for the 9 position toggle.

I think you may find that there was at least one other year they made a nine position gold Toggle.

Here is a D-1 from Achim's website.

Also I have seen advertising recently that shows a nine position Gold Toggle for sale in 1957, but I have not seen a "C Toggle" yet.

But someone else on B&B ( or an Ebay Seller?) said that there was only an F-4 Toggle for Christmas 1960...and the Toggle with 1-5 adjustments was a limited market, serial numbered model in 1957....and its instruction manual showed 1-9 dial numbers!?

A toggle at a reasonably price (less than 3 figures) has so far eluded me. I'll keep on searching though. I'm sure I'll find one, one day.
