What's new

Today's score. Some questions?

I bought this today at a local antique store. It seems to be all original and in pretty good shape. Should make a great addition to my den. Anyone one know how these worked?

Cool. Subscribed...I want the answers, too. I'm assuming it's a towel warmer for a barber shop?

i would like to know as well, i would also like more pictures, maybe of some of the functioning pieces what it looks like inside perhaps we can figure this out

It's a sterilizer. It's just a wooden box with two ribbed glass shelves inside. From what research I could do, these units evidently used some sort of dry chemical for the sterilization process. No, not for towels, but for combs, scissors, razors, etc. Anyone know?

I've seen something similar to this before. A local antique mall has one filled with barbering tools and straight razors. This one thing sticks out or rather stinks out about the one I saw is the smell. It has an extremely intense mothball smell to it. They want between 250 to 300 for it. Thought it was neat but too rich for my pockets.
