Today Is Gasparilla Day

"Look what I found"
AKA talk like a pirate day in Tampa. It is the third largest parade in the country. Not unlike Mardi Gras, just with pirates. It is actually two parades. The Saturday before is the Gasparilla Children’s Parade, a family friendly event. Today’s main event can be a sight to be seen. Depending on alcohol consumption and time of day, attendees can be very enthusiastic in the quest for bead necklaces. Some pictures complements of my Google-fu. Some of my pictures are NSFW

Son and his buddies are in attendance. We were in Tampa the Friday night before Gasparilla Fest last year to meet an old friend for dinner at Columbia Restaurant. We had to park the car away from the hotel and depart early Saturday morning as the streets get shut down and the revelers begin partaking early! Saw some great outfits in the hotel at 8 am Saturday.

Have fun!
