TOBS Rose colour?

I have recently purchased a tub of TOBS rose shave cream and whilst everything seems to be going along swimmingly regarding this creams' performance. There are a couple of small issues that have unsettled me slightly the chief among which is it is extremely pale pink (as in almost white) nothing like some of the pictures seen around here. Secondly it seems to be a lot runnier than the Avocado cream I bought at the same time. Are either or both of these traits natural for the Rose cream?

Thanks Gents

Grant

I haven't had TOBS Rose, but I've had several other scents in TOBS shaving creams, including the Avocado. The Avocado cream does have a firmer consistency than the other scented creams, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was also true of the Rose scent. Maybe someone else can comment on your color question.

I have a tub of TOBS Rose. It is a light pink but nowhere near white. My tub is not runny at all. The consistency is similar to that of any of the other TOBS creams (I currently have Avocado, Lavender, Sandalwood and Shaving Shop as well).

Same with mine.

not sure about the runny consistency but do you have the new formulation of Taylor's cream (the non-paraben version)? I have heard that the new rose is nearly white, so the color you are seeing (if you indeed have the new formulation) is not unusual.

My Rose is nearly white. The pink is barely discernible. The dark, dark pink color is, as far as I know, an older formulation.

I recently bought some of this for the SWMBO and it is pretty close to white. The consistency is not runny at all, I thought it was actually a little thick. I used it once and it lathered nicely though.

Thanks guys it is great to know that my Rose is the right colour:laugh: and I can definately live with it being a little less dense than the Avocado as this doesn't seem to affect the shave.

My TOBS rose is very, very pale pink. Not runny at all, though -- much lighter & fluffier than many of my creams, but the only TOBS I've used that's "runny" is the almond.

I have had my TOBS rose for about six months and it is not runny and is a pale pink color. It has the same consistency of all of the other TOBS creams that I have. It is a great product.

Doug

I bought SWMBO some TOBS Rose, TBH we share creams. It is a pale pink colour, which is fine. As for consistency, it is a bit softer than other creams I have used, but I wouldn't describe it as runny. I haven't used any other TOBS creams as yet, so really can't make the comparison with them. It makes a great lather.

you can not judge a products color by the pictures some one takes in their bathroom with their 100 dollar camera. you can only do that if a pro took the pics and color corrected them using light room or photoshop etc... colors will vary with camera, lighting and many other things like your monitor color adjustment settings as well. I do have the TOBS rose and it is a nice light pink color. not runny at all more like a creamy meringue

Same here - light pink, almost a "powder" pink. It also seems to have gotten lighter as I get to the bottom of the tub.

As for consistency it is definitely lighter than avocado. Not soupy but a lot easier to grab a finger-full. My avocado tub (bought at same time) has gotten almost hard and very thick. The rose has not dried out in the same way, but even to start it was less thick than the avocado.

I had the TOBS Rose in the tube and it was a light pink. I dont think the color matters much. My friend who I converted to wet shaving has a tub of T&H Trafalgar that is almost a dark blue where as my tub of the same cream is a very light powder blue.
I think it depends of how old it is and what lot it came out of.

Yep, TOBS Rose is very pale pink. Others have mentioned the consistency of TOBS creams. I have a lot of different tubes and a few tubs. All of them were quick thick, but then 1 by 1 they went runny. I thought it was because the weather was warm, but putting it in the fridge had no effect. Good news is when they go runny, the performance wasn't affected.
