TOBS Brushes

No one in particular, just saw them on their sight and haven't heard much about the quality so I thought I would ask. Seems like reasonable prices for them so I might consider them in the future.

From the handles, it looks like the brushes are rebranded Vulfix (for many) and rebranded Simpson or Rooney (for some). They should be good quality.

I have a TOBS pure badger, the knot is good quality, has a good bloom now and I don't find it too 'scritchy' I'm sure it's not the top of the range TOBS as the handle is cast plastic, not turned, but as my first brush I've been very satisfied with it.

I have just ordered this one (pic from foroafeitado, Spanish shaving forum)

It's a RT1S Super badger. Beautiful, isn't it?

Seems it's a Rooney 1/1 rebranded.

I'll tell you when it's home...:biggrin1:

BTW, they have sales at TOBS for these brushes (this one cost me 45 pounds, plus shipping)

the P40 and P41 are pretty well priced if they are the vulfix 40S and 41S. very big, soft, avg density to a bit floppy

I have one on the way that I got in a trade here.

It sure looked to be a decent brush from the pictures.

It's a decent brush I guess. I've never cared for it much. There's just something about it. I just paid double what I should have for it's Vulfix twin. I've never been a logo *****. I have far cheaper brushes I like much more.

I'll be honest, my two brushes that I absolutely adore are Parker. One is a Pure, the other a Silvertip. After comparing mine to a few other brushes like Simpson, I think I'll just stick with my Parker brushes. Others seem to be just overpriced.

That's my view, at any rate. I know others that would disagree, but to each their own. Now, I have a razor that needs some attention...
