TOBS Aftershaves

I am considering using aftershave products again after a lengthy hiatus. I do use Nivea shave balm in the winter at times. I am very fond of the TOBS shave creams and enjoy all of the scents that I have.

I would like to get some opinions on their aftershave products. For that matter I would be happy to have input on other aftershaves as well. I like the GFT soaps that I have as well so if anyone has experience with those aftershave products please join in the discussion.

I think that I remember that Barclay Crocker has samples of GFT aftershaves but if anyone has other sources of samples I would greatly appreciate that information as well.

Thank you very much,

Doug

Whatever shave cream from TOBS that you like, get the same scent(s) in aftershaves. I have the sandalwood and Shaving Shop and they are excellent. TOBS is about my favorite English shave company.

Thanks Dewaine,

I am very fond of TOBS shave creams and their Lavender shave soap as well.

I was beginning to think that no one used TOBS aftershaves. I have noticed that they also have aftershave balms.

I really, really wish that a TOBS aftershave sampler existed somewhere. I have been searching for one, but to no avail!

Are they really that similar? I have a sample of St. James cream, but it's difficult to imagine how that translates to a splash.

Barclay Crocker at one time had a TOBS Aftershave sampler as well the GFT mentioned. I can't seem to find it on her site now.

Maybe send her a quick email to her to see if she'll hook you up...

I have been unable to find a TOBS sampler either. I can't say it has been an exhaustive search but pretty thorough. I was aware of the GFT sampler at Barclay Crocker and unfortunately I missed it the last time it was on sale.

To my nose, some of the TOBS aftershaves are not always consistent with the creams. I have or have had three of the aftershaves (Eton, Mr. Taylors, and Shaving Shop). None of them smelled much like the creams. The closest was Shaving Shop, but the other two were pretty different, enough so that if they weren't labeled under the same scent, I wouldn't have guessed that they were supposed to be the same scent.

I think TOBS' shaving creams are great but their splashes are nothing extraordinary than a fragrance but not much more IMO.
