TOBS a much better lather than C.O. Bigelow?

I started out using C.O. Bigelow until my TOBS Grapefruit came in and loved it so haven't switched back really. For the hell of it I used the C.O. Bigelow and it didn't seem to get any where near the kind of thick rich lather the TOBS seems to create.

Is it me & did I just have a bad lather session with the Bigelow & it's really a great, rich lather just like TOBS?

I haven't used the new Bigelow/Proraso formula or TOBS Grapefruit, but I can only imagine that they are both good quality creams. I'm guessing that this was some kind of user error. I'm sure that if you start with enough of either of these creams then you will be able to make a great lather.

Great to hear good remarks from both sides of the fence.

How long does this stuff last once opened if kept sealed tight?

The TOBS I can see me lasting 6+ months more and I've used it for 3-4 months as it is.

The Bigelow has even more cream in it! It will take me 2+ years to get through this all lol

I have both, and find both lather about equally (equally well!). Both are in the permanent rotation - I can't get enough of that grapefruit smell.

TOBS Grapefruit is one of the best scents of any cream or soap that I've used. Absolutely perfect for the warmer months, but really great anytime. Nothing wrong with Bigelow either, but the grapefruit scent is just remarkable.

Finally something I know about (having used TOBS and Bigelow for my last two shaves). While I always like trying other products, I always have some of these around and use them frequently. I find that TOBS gives a slightly more consistent "luxurious" feeling lather than Bigelow, but not by much. I find that a slighter smaller amount of Bigelow is required for 3 passes. And both are about the same in protection, glide, comfort. As others have said, they are both great.

Is a toyota better than a nissan? why not step up to a Bentley and Rolls and get some Sterling Anise and Razorock XXX instead or even better Strop Shoppe special edition tallow in the Baker Street Scent. Ferrari !!!!

It's been a while since I've used either, but they're both fine creams. You like one a little better, which is good because you paid a little more. Some people go the other way. YMMV.

I find Castle Forbes, Ultimate Comfort and Simpsons considerably superior to both.

+1. I don't think it's that COB is bad, it's good IMO. I just think TOBS is great.

Since Bigelow is my everyday cream and I just acquired another tub of TOBS Lavender (my favorite scent in any range) this week. I'd say they lather UP differently but both give great shaves. What do I mean? It takes a tiny bit different way to lather each but once you have which one lathers which way understood, it's all church from there.
