To my fellow Canadians - shipping alcohol based aftershaves

I just sent an email to WestCoastShaving about the possibility of ground shipping alcohol to Canada. They will do as long as the order is under 4 lbs, otherwise the order will be shipped in multiple packages. They instructed me to select USPS First Class shipping in the checkout.

This is great news, as some products are not readily available in Canada. Now I can try Osage Rub, which I cannot find a source in Canada with stock.

This is fantastic news! I have been wanting to get some Captains Choice Bay Rum. I am boycotting Fendrihan so I thought I would never get to try it! Thanks for the info rand77!

I did the same thing last year and WCS shipped my bottle of AI no problem. .

I think many BST listing restrict AS splashes to Canada as they are not fully aware of the legalities and limits.

IB has a great selection of Alcohol Based splashes for us Canadians as well, if you want to order more then 4lbs.

As you found out, it pays to ask!

I love IB, he ships really fast and the prices are really good. I'll be placing a large order soon once the new Razorock products are stocked. I'll be also getting the Canadian made Razorock aftershave splashes and aftershave waxes.

There are a few things that the don't carry though, one being Jeris Osage Rub. WCS is great for their wide variety and helps fill in the gaps.

Also based on the wording of their email - I don't think there is a 4 lb limit. Rather if the package is >4lbs they will break it up, and you will probably have to pay additional postage.

Thanks very much for this info :) Just placed an order and it went through. Before I saw this I tried ordering from Amazon and they wouldn't even do it.

If you haven't purchased your Captain's Choice yet Menessentials in Toronto also stocks the line. I have the Cat O Nine Tails and Lime. Well done and a not bad price.

This is indeed awesome news! I spent some time longingly looking at the WCS website, but never pulled the trigger... won't be shy to now. Thanks!

I don't mean to hijack this thread into another topic but boy I wish I saw this back on May 20th when it was posted. It is hot outside an worse hotter inside!
Thankfully it's supposed to cool off tomorrow.

Reviving this thread out of interest. Has anyone in Canada received their US purchased AS (containing alcohol)? As a broader question, has anyone purchase AS from somewhere else like say, India, and received it? I saw some reports from last year where packages were inspected and the AS was removed, a note was left to say the item was removed.

This thread indicates WCS will ship ground to Canada but on their site, they say for international orders, the AS will be refunded and have the item will not be shipped.

I have ordered colognes from the US without incident - some of the places will actually cross the border on the ground, then ship from within Canada. Works beautifully.

Also, have ordered AS from India (Old Spice Lime) - received twice without problem.

We have inquiries from Canada and must decline to ship direct since parcels now - emphasis now - go via air. Alcohol and shipping by air do not mix. It USED to be you could ship to Canada via Ground but as I understand it that was discontinued several years ago. So my understanding is that any alcohol based aftershave ordered by a Canadian citizen needs to come from within Canada. Hope that helps.

IB has lots of alcohol based slashes and now carries Captains Choice AS
A few that I'm looking for aren't available anywhere I've looked: Sir Irisch Moos AS splash and Old Spice Fresh Lime come to mind.

Already have some Captain's Choice (Lime and Co9T). Love them. Great when you layer them: splash on the Co9T, feel the burn, then splash on some Lime. Love the combination
