Tip to make your own fragrance shaving soap quick and easy!!!

I got this tip from someone and just sharing with you.

Use an unscented soap in my case I used the Van Der Hagen soap that doesn't have much smell to it. I covered the bowl with paper towels and heated in microwave for about 20 sec when its all liquidy. I added few drops of my Brut aftershave and stirred it with toothpicks and just let it get hardened again over night.

Boy I got amazing brut scent and I like it everyday when I shave with it

You can use any of your favorite aftershaves or colognes.

Just a Tip!!

Any suggestions are welcome

The meaning is obvious, but how is one able to make the distinction?

I'm not an expert on the matter, but the melt and pour glycerin soaps are translucent and contain a high glycerin content. Mama Bears is a good example, as is Colonel Conk. I think some of the VdH soaps are as well. But thats a nearly exhaustive list of the major makers out there.

I now see that you included "Glycerin" with the only part I'd noticed ("Melt & Pour"), both times. The Van der Hagen "Select" is a dark pink transparent color, while their other soaps have an opaque color and consistency.

I'm now a bit confused. I apologize if I was vague in my explanation.

The "Select" is a glycerin version I believe, and maybe the "deluxe" too? I know the Luxury version is not, however.

OK, so the DeLuxe is also equally usable, but what else besides the two VDH soaps? How does one know which soaps are of the correct formulation to treat them this way?

The reference thread is strictly VDH?

I believe you cant melt any tallow soaps, you can grate them then push them into a shave stick container. The melt and pours that I know of are VDH, conks, mama bears, shave den, Ogalla, and might be a couple more I cant think of now. If you wanna try anything specific that your not sure of just toss it out and I or someone will let you know.

a while ago I did an experiment..melted..Erasmic shave stick, Godrej Shave Soap puck, and VDH in a plastic container..man does this make AMAZING later..felt endless!
