Tin or container for Provence Sante soap puck

Since its kind of weirdly sized, I really can't find anything to keep it in where its not banging around. Any suggestions?

It's a mug-sized soap. I keep mine in the original Van der Hagen apothecary mug I started wet shaving with. And Old Spice mug would work, or any regular coffee mug.

Mine is in an Old Spice mug. The puck stops wiggling around and sticks after a couple uses. Oh yeah, it's upside down.

I face lather, creating the lather by holding the PSGT puck in the palm of my hand. But then, I do that with every soap except croaps and PdP (which is firmly stuck in its tin container).

It fits snugly in the new Muhle white ceramic bowls with lid. They're pricey, but can be had from Shaving.ie, Connaught Shavng and a few other vendors. I don't really like the Muhle soaps, but I bought two of these ceramic bowls, and I keep my Provence Santé and my Institut Karité in them.

Dammit. I was hoping that there would be some cheap Walmart/Target option just for storage. Hand lathering is ok, but then you have to wipe down the puck every time and it makes a holy mess.

I don't like tins. These containers are perfect for all my soaps. You can find them at Ocean State Job Lot if you have one in your area. You get 4 for $2.25 there. They have screw covers and the bottoms nest into the tops with a turn. You can order online from another source, link below. The six ounce container works great.

I was at the Container store Wednesday night and looked at these. I like the idea of a stackable, locking container. I didn't buy any, however. I felt the diameter was just too small for efficient loading. The specs say it's over 3 inches, but that's the outer diameter of the lid. If you consider the inner diameter of the bowl, then consider that the walls slope inward toward the base, and it looks like it's just over 2" at what would be the soap surface. That's too bad because it's a great price and a great idea.

I've got several of these in the 4 ounce bowl and it's the same issue

Those containers will certainly work, as I've been making them work for nearly 2 years, but anything new I buy will have a larger diameter.

They seem to work for me. I take a soap and soak in hot water to soften a bit and push the soap to the bottom of the container. I then let it dry. The nesting design of the container will lock the soap in place. Some other containers I have used with larger diameter allow the soap to spin when loading. You might give on a try as they are really inexpensive. If you don't like it you can use it to store shea butter, shave cream, soft soap or blades. I use them for all those purposes.

The soap is pretty soft and will press into anything easily.

I have mine pressed into a shave stick container from west coast shaving.
