Timeless Titanium

Well, after receiving a reasonable tax refund and reflecting upon the fact that I am only a couple of weeks away from my 55th birthday, I decided that it was time to pull the trigger on the Timeless I have been eyeballing for the past few years. Thanks to all y’all for your smarts, expertise, and enabling tendencies. I ordered the titanium matte with .68 SB and Crown handle.

A well deserve bday gift and may you have many returns of the day!

Curios myself, is there a significant difference between SB and SCL base and top caps combinations?

OC without a doubt just by looking how fierce the design is will definitely give a closer shave.

Grats on your new acquisition.

Hey all, I just noticed earlier tonight that I missed all of your comments. I didn't have my notifications set up properly, and I apologize! I went through quite the Timeless odyssey since my original post. I tried the .68SB, .68OC, .95SB, and Slim plates, and have pretty decisively settled on the .95SB. Needless to say, I have exceeded my tax-refund budget at this point, but oh well. The Slim is going back to Timeless tomorrow (still in the return window), and I am working with a fellow B&B member on a "try it before you buy it" arrangement with respect to the .68 plates. It is such an amazing razor.

Personally, I settled on the OC plates as my preferred configuration, regardless of whisker growth. I found them to be smoother and more forgiving than the SB or scalloped plates.

I always enjoy reading the opinions of others though and would like to hear more about how you settled on the .95 SB. 🍻

I shaved a fortune
I finalized on OC base plates as well, but I have to say.... the scalloped base plate provided an excellent shave and left trails of lather behind with each stroke, similar to the OC base plates. The 0.68OC is all I need, though I'm sure I could make the 0.95OC work for me. I haven't felt the need for more efficiency.

I do find it interesting..... razor design... The Timeless 0.68OC, the Wolfman WR2 0.95 and the Blutt BR-1 1.20... all shave similar for me. Then you have the Athena.... hardly any blade gap and exposure.... Same excellent shaves. There's much more to a razor's design than its specs, that's for sure.
