Well after a few shaves I cannot notice any difference between performance of equipment, but the aesthetics make me smile. Sure is one sexy implement, and admire the matte ti look.

Depends perhaps if you go more towards cap or bar when shaving if the scalloped cap can actually be felt. I even feel a difference when shaving rather steep.

It is an interesting question. According to Timeless’ website they find the difference is only in looks. But scalloped caps do influence performance according to others - for example while using a R41 with a scalloped head or with a SLOC type of setup.
I have it the other way around - smooth cap and scalloped baseplate. Works like a charm and is the smoothest most effective razor I have in my den with the R41 as main contender (and sometimes vice versa depending on the blade I am using).

I haven't found any difference in the shave. But I do like the different look.
