Years ago while reading an article in some men's sartorial magazine, I came across a term that referred to the science of patterns on ties. It was quite explicit. And for some reason I cannot remember that word to save my life and I have never been able to track it down since. It could have been a neologism on the part of the author of the piece. I am not sure. But somewhere out there I'm thinking that someone will know the word for this. "Of or having to do with patterns and color schemes on neckties". Anyone have an Inkling?

I do not know of any special words for workers who specialize in making neck ties other than
tiemaker." Google results seem to indicate there are no synonyms for "tiemaker." There are on-line sources that set out the names for the parts of a necktie, but I do not see anything apt as to your question.
