Three Vintage Straight Razors for a Beginner

So I have been interested in straight razors for a while, but have yet to try it. When I told my dad of my interest he informed me that his Dad, my Grandpa, had a small collection of straight razors (I don't believe he ever used them). He had them shipped to me so I could get them cleaned up, honed, and ready to use. Here they are:

Vom Cleff & Co.(Diamondine)

Geo. Wostenholm & Son

$2013-01-12 03.30.09.jpg

Not so sure about this one. Says
The Union Razor Co.Tidioute, PA on the shaft, but is being stored in the Genco case?
$2013-01-12 03.12.09.jpg

Once I get them restored I will post an update and possibly a beginners journal into the world of straight razors.

Very nice. They're all in great shape. Congratulations.
Von Cleff & Co. were an American distributor and the Diamondine brand was from Solingen razor maker Friederich Brangs.
The Union Razor was U.S. made between 1902 - 1909. The Genco case is a mismatch.
Wostenholm is a highly regarded Sheffield razor maker.
The Von Cleff scales look original. I believe that the other two have been re-scaled somewhere along the line.
I'd guess that all of the blades are around the same age.

Thanks for the info. Can't wait to use them.

Very nice razors. Like you said, it doesn't look like they were ever used. Get them honed up good and shave away!
