Threat on 3bay

I was looking at razors tonight on the bay. There was a GEM 1912 that had a BIN price of $65.00 or best offer. So I put my best offer in for $10.00 as it was just the razor, user grade and very scummy dirty. The seller responded within 2 minutes, and was threatening to report me to the ebay police or whoever you report to for lowballing him. Is it just me, but when you put the best offer option up there, you can't get mad if someone "lowballs" you. This is why I never even look at a razor on the bay for over 15bucks.

If it says "Best Offer" you can offer $0.50 if you want. He can decline it or counter offer. There is no such thing as lowballing and he could only report you if you made offensive comments with the offer. If he contacts ebay they would probably just ignore him... I know I would. In fact it sounds like you have more reason to report him for threatening you.

There are a lot of really clean, almost new or rare razors on ebay that are well over $15 but if you set a limit on how much you want to spend on a razor then you'll always feel better sticking to it.

There's nothing he/she can do. They're just being a d-bag. An offer is an offer. If you put best offer and no reserve price, your loss if someone sees through your "creative" pricing.

Lol...ebay lowballing police. Thats the funniest ebay thing I've heard in a long time.

As long as you weren't rude or offensive in your messages he can't do anything except block you from his listings, which sounds like wouldn't be much of a punishment anyway

some people feel that since the item is labeled as "vintage" that it will certainly go for high dollar. as you said, user grade, so i wouldn't have gone over 15 either.

i tried to offer prices for things that i know for sure wont go for what they want, and it gets denied. there are some that even go as far as auto denying under a certain price. go ahead, let them report you :) how are you low balling him? its an offer, and the seller dosent have to accept it. it goes the same with cisco networking gear in my opinion. well .... anything more like it!

if i recall, per ebay policy, you can submit up to 3 best offers before you cant offer anymore on that item.

Yeah I'm not too worried about this feller... I've wrote down his user name, and I hold grudges to the grave. So he could sell a bottom dial fatboy for 5 bucks and I wouldn't buy it.....Ok I retract that statement, but only for the bottom dial FB!!!:o16: And I don't feel too bad, I've made quite a run on GEM's for less than 2 bucks a pop lately. Not the prettiest, but I buy em' to use.

You offered $10 for a scummy dirty user grade GEM 1912?!?!?!?!? That's too much. I'd offer to sell you my GEM 1912 (good condition, user grade) but I'm using it! BTW, I paid $8 .for mine and it didn't need any clean up.

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
do these razors really sell? like people really buy them for that much?

I don't know if I could feel bad about selling a $10 razor for $50 if someone is willing to pay it......?

i mean...i can list 2 right now

i mean...i can list 2 right now

Now, despite the money that you can rake in IF they sell for that price tag, do you REALLY think that you can part with those 2 razors? Or once you sell them will you feel a hole in your den that can only be replaced by buying more razors??

Its the viscous cycle of :
:badger: & :behead:
