Thoughts on Trumper's Eau de Portugal

Perhaps it's something about the way it reacts to my body chemistry, but to me, Trumper's Eau de Portugal smells like Goo-Gone, a citrus based cleaning agent that can take duct-tape goo off of any surface. The citrus notes are way too strong and sweet. To me, it's like a very citrus heavy Eau de Cologne. Very offensive to the glands.

Is it really eau de Portugal or just Portugal?

To me, a very pure orange, with maybe some bergamot and neroli in it, but more say orange peel than most eau de Portugals, which are a very old and venerable type of men's scent. No dirty elements to speak of, as some EdPs have, and I like a whole lot.

To me, not offensive in any respect. But not too exciting in any dimension either. Very summery.

I didn't care for it esp since i had the rare opportunity to smell it side-by-side to Trumper's "Eau de Cologne" (which is really hard to find). The EDC is more of a traditional citrus, perhaps like what The Knize is refering to.

GFT is good, but it reminds me of something my dad wears. And I don't plan on buying it until Trumper offers it in a bigger bottle.

Yeah, I was taking a look at that... 39gbp for a 50ml bottle. Most of their fragrances are about 42gbp for a 100ml bottle. That makes GFT very overpriced.

It smells like Musgo Real shaving cream. Which I guess can be a good thing, but I was looking for something a little more subtle.
