Thoughts on Boost AS

What are your thoughts on the Boost aftershave splashes?

Which ones have your tried and to what results?

I got MC from the Drugstore and pumped up the kick of my Green Brisk mix of Barbarsol Brisk and Skin Bracer and my triple threat AV Ice Blue, Swan and Barbarsol Blues.

The Boosters are some of my faves. I have Polar Ice, Aquarius, Jickey, Mosswood & Oriental Spice (sample). Great stuff!! :thumbup1:

Is it very soothing, good at fighting razor burn?

I have the Boost Oakmoss, and I like it. However, it does not have any ingredients that I would consider soothing or moisturizing. The ingredients, in order, are: water, alcohol, fragrance, and dye. Despite the lack of soothing ingredients, my face feels pretty good after I use it. At around $10 a bottle, you might just want to try it for yourself. If you're looking for something more soothing or moisturizing, there are plenty of threads with recommendations. My personal favorites are Proraso aftershave balm, Musgo Real AS lotion (splash), and DR Harris Marlborough.

I still use the Booster Polar Ice which soothes the skin without any harsh sting and a slightly less stronger scent than Aqua Velva. I also enjoyed the Iced Lime which is the same fragrance as the JM Fraser Shave Cream. I prefer the scent of the Iced Lime to the Polar Ice. I have since finished the Iced Lime and have yet to replace it.

The nice thing about these products is that they are now readily available in the US. When I first started using them, you had to call TBBS in Canada and it would take about 10-14 days to get to you, not to mention the shipping on top of it.

Booster = Good Stuff. :thumbup1:

That's a tough one. Does anything really help with razor burn? Booster's doesn't have the jolt that many aftershaves carry, but it feels nice going on and smells great.

It does help soothe the razor burn for a little while, not for long though. I wish the polar ice had more menthol.

I tried samples of Aquarius and Polar Ice. Both felt great on my skin but the smell of both was very subtle and just a little too sweet.

I still want to try Oakmoss, June Clover, Oriental Spice and Iced Lime though.

I just got a sample of oakmoss and ja sample of jickey. Both smell a little sweet, we'll see how they work.

They are basic Barbershop grade aftershaves, i.e. alcohol + scent. Some of them contain glycerin and some do not apparently. I tried the Jickey awhile back and liked it...kind of a sweet powdery scent...very barbershoppy. I'm pretty sure that one had glycerin because I could feel a little stickiness when I applied too much.

I enjoy the Booster scents. I don't find that they work any better or worse than other aftershaves. The only observation I have is that the scents do no last very long on me at all.

I have made it through all of the samples of the various Booster scents. I like the Mosswood, but the others do not interest me. YMMV.
