What's new

This stuff has been in my cabinet for a LONG time!

Just out of curiosity, I decided to take a look at these bottles that have been in my cabinet for many years. Both are Old Spice, both in GLASS bottles.

First bottle is Old Spice "Sensitive After Shave" -- distributed by P&G.

The other bottle is Old Spice cologne. Of course, this is "THE ONE"...

I guess it's just too bad the cologne couldn't be from P&G and the AS from Shulton. Guess that's the way it goes... might as well try the cologne, though!
:wink2:

Nice find. Try both. Hopefully they haven't turned. Many folks have good luck with older aftershaves if they have been reasonably stored - away from light, heat and hungry wetshaving hordes.

Lucky you... I had to go to the trouble of finding them on eBay and you had some all along! :biggrin1:

I've got a 1993 P&G/Shulton Original Aftershave and the same make of Shulton cologne that you have. (Also two bottles of aftershave that are the same style bottle)

Approximately what period does the clipper ship design date from?

They smell fine! Although I haven't actually done anything other than pull the cap and sniff.

I don't have any idea how old they are, I THINK they were my dad's, and he passed away in 1983...

My dad had some bottles on a shelf for years; they were gifts and he never liked the stuff. I think my mom eventually threw them away. I wish I had the foresight to take them!

Mine smell fine, too. I think that the opaque glass bottle is a big part of that.

I was surprised about how powdery they are, but I still like the stuff anyway.

They should be fine to use and they do smell a little different than the stuff that's around. I found a NOS 1984 travel bottle and I like it very much, reminds me of my grandpa.

Just tried both bottles. The cologne seems to be fine, but the AS was milky-looking, so I simply put it back in the cabinet. Anybody know if that's how it's supposed to look???

I have a bottle of the sensitive AS and it is also thick and milky looking, I believe that's how it was made. The cologne was bottled between 1973 and 1980. Both are great finds, vintage OS is my favorite scent to find in the wild and use.

I'll try the AS today then. Thanks for the info!

It should be fine.

I found a large bottle of 4711 edc way back in a cabinet that I know is several decades old (maybe close to 30 years). It is just fine. In fact, it smells nicer than the newer product I have.
