Although this blade may be salvageable, the scales can not be used again. They will continue to off gas and corrode any blade used.

I would not even try, just saw this blade on ebay and thought it was a great example of cell-rot.

Eww. And it is quite possibly "contagious", meaning that if you store a rotting set of scales with another non rotting set, the rotting set can set off the chemical reaction in the good ones. That is what happens when acetates break down, anyway.
