For special occasions I break out the Grandpa's shave gear.
Grandpa's Seaforth shave mug with a puck of unknown soap 50 plus years old and still work great.
Grandpa's shave brush basic nylon no name
Merkur Razor with Schick Plus Platinum blade.
Captian's Choice copper shave bowl, this thing is great.
Old Spice cologne Pre 1970. I picked this up after I found out that Grandpa used to use it.
Shave was vary good and the memories this setup brings me puts a smile on my face.
For special occasions I break out the Grandpa's shave gear.

3 pass BBS shave with the RazoRock Wunderbar and it is a pleasure to have this razor in my rotation.
I get wonderful results from this razor and Blackbird is one step (at least) above this razor in efficiency, and it has started giving me autopilot shaves as well.

No, it's only a 28mm knot but it looks larger because the handle is relatively short (~45mm).
I don't shave till tonight, so I'm in! Blade will be my one remaining UK Wilkinson; razor to start will be my Karve (plate tbd). I did really well on this blade last time around so no worries on my part.

Starting the One Blade February Challenge tonight with the King C Gillette blade. Many say it is similar to the Gillette Platinum and having used it (if only once) I would agree. Although not the sharpest of blades it is amazingly comfortable particularly in this razor. There were times I couldn't even feel the blade though it still managed to mow down the stubble with impunity. After three short passes I was left with a BBS and no irritation at all.
If this blade is like the Gillette Platinum that bodes well for the challenge because the one I finished before Christmas lasted 25 shaves.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

I want to see if I can make it through the month with a carbon steel blade. The 1912 really works well with that blade. We'll see how things go. Things felt a little chattery this morning. I skipped Sunday's shave and started a new tub of soap. I expect tomorrow will be smoother.

I think I’ve been sleeping on these Bic blades! Beautiful 3 pass shave to start OBIF out strong. Can this blade go the distance? We shall see.
