Thinking of giving soap a 2nd try

I am primarily a cream guy. The only soap I have used is Williams, it made nice lather but did not like the smell.

Here is my Question.....

I do not like mixing scents nor do I like a floral scent. I want Pre-shave, soap, and AS in the same scent. I now bow to your expertise on some brands that offer this and some good places to buy on line. Yes I am being lazy and hoping you can help narrow down my research.

Getting the pre-shave in the same scent is the tricky part. All I can think of is something like Trumpers Lime Skin Food, soap, and AS. theenglishshavingcompany.com is a great place to go, and they've got free shipping right now.

AoS unscented soap is stellar. I think you can pick it up at Lee's online, or at AoS stores.

+1

I don't think the scent stays there long enough to worry about it.

Or go with speick. I don't know that they have a pre-shave product, but they do has AS and Cologne, and the soap is one of (if not my) favourite. And to be honest, I've only used a pre-shave with my matching proraso soap because it gives a nice menthol tingle by the end.

Maybe I rethink this, How about a good quality uncented soap and then I can change up scents with different combos of AS.

Some people may disagree, but I would say Mitchell's. It's a great soap and the fragrance, to me, is just a very mild powder smell that doesn't linger after you shave. If I put a little cream with a fragrance in my bowl when I lather up my MWF all I get is the cream fragrance over the soap... so you might like it.

Just out of curiosity, with the speed at which the scents from soap disappear, what does it matter? I mean they smell nice when you shave, but don't seem to stick around very long at all....so it seems to me it would not interfere with your aftershave.
