Thiers-Issard - P. Hospital & Co. - Project Re-scale. - Progress to this point.

As some of know know, I found two of the P. Hospital & Co. Straight razors , new in boxes.
I did not care for the Green burl scales on one of them so decided to re-scale it.
The original shape of the scales has been preserved.

I call it - Nebula red magic.
Still a ways to go, but this is the progress thus far.
The final product will be highly polished and look like it's coated with glass.
As you can see, the blade is not pinned and is just sitting in the background.
The after photo is from a cell phone.......looks a lot better than this.

Oh my... I very much liked the green. However... nice job.

Gotta say the darker color (green) gave it a serious, more elegant, look.

I also prefer the darker color.

But bling-bling red is cool too, I guess.

Never owned a straight (and do not want to go down that rabbit hole), so I'm curious ... when you re-scale, can you still use the old scales? Is there some standard size that will allow you to re-use this for blades from other makers?
