What's new

They delivered the fat today oh boy

So I ordered mwf and dish from Suffolk supplies 21.74 GBP, I think that's under 30.00 US not bad. First off the smell isn't bad at all to me, it smells like soap. I can live with that, the scent in soaps don't last long anyway. I'm itching to lather up in the morning, I face lather so I'll use my chubby2 I think and load it up as much as possible, better too much than not enough. Any suggestions on getting the lather right on this stuff, I've read how it can be tuff to get right?

Honestly, for me the best way to use MWF is to rub the cake on my beard like you would a shaving stick and then face lather from there. I've had almost zero luck loading the soap on the brush first.

I like to soak the puck 1st, load for 30ish seconds, and face lather away it seems to like a little extra water. Enjoy DA FAT!!

You better really like it because I think it takes 3-4x the effort of a decent shave cream lol. I wasn't a fan but I guess I'm in the minority.

I've never really had an issue getting lather out of soaps, maybe because I have a water softener on my home I'm not sure but this soap has such a following I couldn't resist

That's probably the big difference, I'm just not into the trouble to make lather and I do have hard water. But whatever the soap, if it works for you that's perfect.

Last I checked the exchange rate was approximately one GBP to $1.60 US so you paid approximately $34.78. From looking at Connaught's site (the online arm of Suffolk Supplies) you must have bought the ceramic dish along with the puck at 14.50 GBP plus shipping to the US to come up with that total. For that item their price isn't high by any means although I certainly would not buy the ceramic bowl myself. Oh well, next time you will already have it so you can purchase the refill at 5.25 GBP and save a few bucks.

Enjoy the Fat, maybe I will buy it myself someday (I already have at least a two-year supply of shaving soap already, I certainly don't need more now).

I didn't want to the bowl but I figured for 15 bucks why not, it would look nice in the den

I may have very soft water, but I've just followed the 3017 rules of "lather it like you hate it" and have zero problems. With my brushes the lather changes after about 45-60 seconds and gets extra creamy. That always means that it's just about ready for some face/bowl lathering.
