I think I've become hooked on this (for now). Not that it's a bad thing.
Starting back with the thread on a Week of the 1912, I bagan the theme week shaves and have not stopped yet. But let me explain.
I am pursuing a quest to shave at least once with each razor I've accumulated, before releasing some back into the wild. Those with RAD will understand, some were bought in lots, with no intention to keep all (buy this lot, clean them up and sell a few individually, offsetting the cost of some, etc). Some were bought just for the cases (did I need another Tech identical to but less shiny than one I already had? No, but that Single Ring needed a proper home-etc.).
So, since the 1912, I have done the week of 40's style Super Speeds (had 7, just bought one more, but again, some will be leaving). I did a week of "Special" razors. Special for various reasons, from birth year to rarity to beauty to age. I have another 7 I've not shaved with yet on deck for a future Special Razors week #2. I did Tech week (this one let me try 7 different new blades in a similar platform, and now those 7 blades are in rotation until they are done). And I did Super Speed week, using the Flare Tips for the first time (really liked them, I need to compare with the 40's style once I kick the theme habbit!). I had 4 of those, so I also tried the one '74 Black Handled Super Speed, and two "Super Speed-esque" razors, the '41 Ranger Tech and the '47 Milord.
This week, it's GEM week. Did an open comb Micromatic on day one (wasn't quite careful enough, but I've another in this weeks rotation), a G Bar, a Feather Weight (BBS, first in a while!) and today is a Push Button. I think the week will round out with another open comb Micromatic, a bullet tip Micromatic and another Feather Weight (I have 4 of those, need to try the other two at some point!, then I'll off a couple to the BST).
Future weeks planned, as mentioned another "Special Razor" week. But first, a week of the Single Ring (have 7, have shaved with only one). And I think I've got enough 1912's to do another week of those, without even touching the Ever Ready I used for that first week (still some of the best shaves I've gotten since starting this madness!). Oh, and possibly a week of "hundred year old" razors, though I'll have to wait until 1910 to have enough without repeat . And I could do the "battle of the giants" with a week of the Big Fellow series, though I have a total of 4 in that series (counting one in the mail), so I'd reuse one or two.
The good news is, I finally have slowed down to buying less than 7 razors a week. So eventually, I'm bound to catch up! Of course, there are about 8 currently inbound.... (wonder if I've hit 100 yet? )
