Here is one from 1972 - 1977, this particular one is from 1974.

Hi,
I believe this variation of the Schick Double Edge Razor packaging is not older than mid-to-late 1975. Back in 1974, Schick hadn't started using barcodes yet, it was a new technology that had just been inaugurated in June of the same year. It took a year or two before companies such as Schick started using barcodes. I know Gillette didn't start until 1976.

Also, Schick used the font bellow until at least early 1975:

The snip below comes from a 1975 publication of the Utica-Observer Dispatch:

Note: It's for the "Send your face to Schick" contest. Send a snapshot of your face to Schick!
The first 50 000 automatically win the razor of their choice + a trial pack of blades :D
All entries must be postmarked by 12/31/75 and received by 1/12/76.

The only conclusion I can draw is this razor has to have been in made 1972 or later so unless there is more definitive dating methods we know for sure this style razor produced at least from 1967 - 1972 and most likely later than 72.
Thank you for this very helpful thread! I have inherited a Karona from my father-in-law which I had assumed he got sometime between 1967-69. This may be wrong according to your info. It has a black plastic knob with triangle on the bottom, and Schick in large letters, not underlined, on the doors. But it also is stamped M on the bottom plate, which might indicate an earlier date. The photo shows an M in the lower right hand side, then a 2 and 3 in the upper left and to right sides. It is hard to read, but there might be a 1 in the lower left side. Do you have any information on this date code?
P.S. : Another site dates the Schick M Type to 1965-72, but only the injector and adjustable models are mentioned.

That is not a date code, but a manufacturing code. Appleby used letters of the alphabet to designate the different razors on his chart. The type M is an adjustable injector razor. There is no way to pin down the date of manufacture for an individual Schick razor.

Thanks for the clarification!

Great detective work you have me convinced. Based on your evidence I have changed info in my album concerning a mint now notated as a "pre-Krona" set that I picked up from Canada. I was calling the posting "Krona". Inside the Schick DE razor case under the blade dispenser were three unused and factory folded Schick coupons which helped me date my (short handle) DE razor. Based on the expire dates and "64" notations the coupons appear to be from the late 1964 to mid 65 time frame. Thanks for the great investigative work.

Used my Eversharp, the model with the Gray handle, this morning and was quite impressed with the shave. Some blade feel, no irritation, no weepers, and a three pass BBS out the door! It came with the same case as above, but no extras. Razor appears to be almost unused IMO. These are great razors IMO, and the different models I have all seem to shave the same......................very nice.

Both the pre Krona and the Platinum are in my collection. Both great shavers. Despite not liking plastic razors I quite like the Platinum. Aparently it is quite a rare item. Both ones I have are in a box too.

Great information on the Krona!

Awesome post! I believe that my latest acquisition is a short metal knob Schick razor with no markings on the door, with the Schick in triangle logo at the end of the handle and thus pre-1968 and not a Krona. If I am not missing something - which is altogether possible of course.
Hedas, maybe 1965… I have the same razor, and the date on the case is 1965. The date on the instructions is M-64-132.

I bought this razor yesterday.
