Well, a month or two into my 37C slant it's an interesting report and a testament to the advice one gets in here. Always good advice and offered in a real spirit of camaraderie. I even bought the thing from one of my fine brothers of B&B.
Well, I got the razor and shaved like normal ignoring the slant as was instructed. While it didn't nick a bit and was Ok comfortable it only provided a SAS and I was kind of disappointed in it and just returned to my other Merkurs.
At one point I remember the advice of a veteran slant guy which was if its not working for you go back to what you're used to and maybe try again in a couple or a few weeks. Here's to wise advice! Maybe three weeks later I pick it up and pay special attention to the B&B mantra - lather, technique and blade angle. Also take your time.
I pick up the slant with the no pressure going through my head, have a nice later and really pay attention and was rewarded with just a beautiful BBS that had nary a nick. One of the finest shave I've ever had. The next day I repeated in case the first was a fluke and got the same shave. - and comfortable. It i didn't hear the whiskers getting cut and the amazing result I would have believed there was no blade in the razor.
After I nearly wrote it off it has become one of three go to razors (the others being a Mergress and a Futur).
Here's to good advice generously offered. Here's to the brotherhood that makes this all possible.
thanks, guys!
