The Rythmic Razor A Non-Gillette Adjustable

My latest. One of the coolest razors I own. From The Davies Razor Company. Glasgow Scotland. It pretty much looks unused. From what I can tell, the patent was 1937 - 1938 .

Top knurled dial adjusts the blade gap, bottom one moves the bottom plate up or down to permit the blade to be loaded.

It's a DE. It takes regular blades. No, I've not yet shaved with it. But I can tell you I'm really looking forward to giving it a try. I literally just got it.

I played around with the adjustment mechanism - it goes from no gap at all to a very large gap, something like 3/16 of an inch. It doesn't click it's a smooth adjustment like the Progress.

That is one cool looking razor!!
Post more pics if you can, would like to see a blade loaded in it

Congrats!!

Thanks. This was one of my "grail" razors. At the moment, I don't think I'm really looking out for anything else. Of course, until the next one catches my eye. Can't believe I got one that's in such great shape. It really does look mint.

The first picture is with the blade loaded, looking down at the "head". The second is what it looks like when you loosen the lower knob. The bottom plate lowers and the plate can then be turned to load a blade.

Super cool.

Very cool. Can you post a pic from the side, showing the entire razor with a loaded blade? Preferably with gap wide open? I'm having trouble picturing it loaded.

That is for sure the most interesting razor I have seen in months. It looks like something NASA would have developed for their contemporary astronauts. Shaving in space. (-Finally a GOOD razor in space leaving back on terra firma that dreaded Gillette Techmatic that Michael Collins used to use).
Great catch Haiku! Do you know anything more about The Davies Razor Company..?

Happy to, but with the holidays, I expect to be delayed by a few days. The gap goes from pretty much no gap at all to a huge gap. The blade looks like it's held ever so slightly lower at the corners which reminds me of my Darwin.
