How'd I do? Missing anything? :biggrin1: In all seriousness, this board has been quite helpful! Thanks and it's been quite an enjoyable experience.

Theres a few gaps in that picture. I think you need a couple more razors and maybe a brush to fill them in.....

BTW, Welcome to B&B, ask as many questions as you need, offer what you can and enjoy the journey!!!

WHAT?!? NO STRAIGHTS?! (kidding)
Looks like you're off to a good start... do this again in a couple of months and then see how much more stuff you've got.

you haven't passed into the hoarding stage of the disease yet.

it won't be long until you have assembled a little shaving fall-out shelter with supplies to last into the next millennium.

then one day you'll be looking for something and you'll discover that you have 300 assorted blades, 4 pucks of this, 3 tubs of that, 23 razors, 17 brushes and enough after shave balm to fill a bathtub.

at this point, some people purge in a wild flurry of BST selling while others resign themselves to finding a bigger cabinet. we won't know which type you are until your symptoms progress.

Nice start. :thumbup1:

You need more aftershaves though: you need some Skin Bracer, and some Barbasol (Pacific Rush, feel the menthol baby!), and at least one Bay Rum (Master's Bay Rum is dirt cheap, and available locally at Sally Beauty; I am not a huge fun of the Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum: too heavy on the cloves.).

Oh, and obviously one razor just won't cut it. You need to immediately buy a Muhle R89/ Edwin Jagger DE89L. And no shave den is complete without a couple of vintage Gillettes!!:lol:

I want to buy a vintage Gillette - I love vintage products - but I'm still deciding what I want. Not sure if a SS or an open-comb for when I let the beard grow out. Or maybe I'll wind up buying something completely different!
I'm also buying probably a shavemac later this year, and perhaps a saville row or a rooney early next year.

I would love to buy more, but I have a fountain pen habit to support! :001_rolle

I'm looking into straights. Got a Dovo and a Thiers-Issard on the docket, but I don't plan on buying until next year, so I have time to decide!

Nice travel kit
:a14:

Well, you could try an injector, like a Schick G or L type, and a single edge razor, say a Gem 1912.

Soaps and creams, whatever works. I see you have three there that I like, the Williams, VdH, and Proraso. Aftershaves and preshaves, optional, but whatever you like.

Seriously, you've got enough there to last you for quite some time. It's early days, so you can just figure you've got enough and leave it at that except for buying more blades and another puck of soap from time to time. Or you can treat it as a hobby and start accumulating and experimenting. Whichever suits you best.

You need to have Pinaud Clubman in that pic. No collection is complete without it.:001_smile

Yes-this is an absolute must! But while you're at it,you might as well go ahead and get a bottle of Pinaud Lilac Vegetal...it's best to find out early on if you are "chosen"...

Great start to a collection!!
