Performs as good as expensive stuff IMHO.

The smell is pleasant. Not a luxury smell like Sandalwood, but more "Clean" Leathery smell. Very Pleasant

I'm glad you like it so much. For me, the jury is still out as I've only used it a few times so far. I squeeze out a small amount onto my fingers, rub it into my beard area and then face lather. It is applied to a moist face. It does seem to thin out in the course of the shave, but the slickness is still there, so I guess that's the important thing. When I first got it, I bowl lathered it, and then applied it to a dry face. Used in that way, it did not seem slick - the razor skipped a bit. So that's when I started face lathering it..

Yep, it's top quality stuff - made by Creightons, who supply the base cream to a lot of the high-end makers. But I only have 3 or 4 tubes of it myself!

The AS balm is very good too - again at Home Bargains.

Amazing cream, has taken me a while to appreciate how good it actually is, as are most of RSC products.

Incredible value, although proving more difficult to purchase in shops in my area so I buy direct from Creightons.

I've been using this exclusively since around August. It does a great job. Now, I don't enjoy it as much as my ToBS or other "name" creams that I have, but until the storage locker is cleaned out, I can pick this up locally at Rite Aid.

Agreed. I really enjoyed the performance of mine, but the scent was too chemically.

A couple of months ago Rite Aid had a sale on this excellent shave cream. I purchased four tubes - some of which I got for about $2.00 ea. I think the scent is ok and I have grown to like it.

I tried yiour suggestion. This time I used between 2 and 2 - 1/2 times as much product as I had previously tried. And, as promised, I got great heaps of nice, creamy thick lather. Further, it did not thin out sitting on my face, either. Still, it did seem to not be as slick as some of my other shaving soaps/creams. I have some Castle Forbes pre-shave which I think I will try in conjunction with the RSC next time I use it.

I like the thick fluffy lather from RSC cream and I like that it doesn't thin out while I'm shaving, but I agree it doesn't seem as slick as the other creams and soaps I've tried.

Yep... RS and Arko are a couple of the best kept secrets in the shaving world.

My wife brought me home a tube of RS she found in the "sale basket" at our local grocery store for $1.50

Great price... I still thank her for picking this up and encourage her to bring home any MORE she comes across...

I have the menthol version and I like it quite a bit. Don't expect a big menthol hit though. It's been a while since I've used it, but as I recall, it was barely perceptible. Still a great scent and a great cream.
