I've been trying something new lately. For years I've shaved after I showered. I have a coarse beard and I'm prone to nicks and weepers. So for the last several weeks I've been cold water shaving before showering. I've tried different razor and blade combos, some better than others. This morning I shaved with my newer Viking Meiji and Shark Super Chrome blade. I was honestly disappointed when I first got the Viking Meiji last month. My first shave with it was unimpressive with a Bic Chrome Platinum. However, this morning was the smoothest and most enjoyable shave I've ever had. The Viking Meiji and Shark Super Chrome were just a very nice combo for me. I guess my point is that it does take some trial and error to find the right razor and blade combination. I was tempted to get rid of the Meiji after my first shave, but I guess the lesson is that sometimes you just have to find the right razor and blade combo...
By the way, I used Cella shaving soap which I’ve really been enjoying.
