The Price is Right Shaving Mug

I found this in Target today. I bought a red one. They also had a bright green and a black. It measures 2 1/2" tall and 3" inside diameter at the top and very slight taper in the bore. That makes it close in size to an Old Spice mug. It looks like a VDH Luxery (3") puck will fit (this Target had two VDH Luxury shaving sets in stock, so I pulled the puck from one to check.

Since I'm traveling, the only brush I have to show it with is one of my small (16 mm) travel brushes. My "travel mug" is also there to help see the size.

I'll be able to get better pictures at home this weekend as well as report on just how well different pucks fit.

And the price? $1.99.

At this rate, I'll end up with more mugs than brushes.

That's a great mug for the price. I'll have to check them out the next time I'm at Target. I have to admit though that I was disappointed to not see Plinko when I opened the thread!

As promised, here are more pictures.

Here we have the Target Espresso Mug alongside an Old Spice Mug and my Ronald Reagan Library Mug. I consider the Old Spice Mug the best for most brushes, and the Ronald Reagan Library Mug the best for large brushes. The Target Mug is very close to the same diameter and slightly taller than the Old Spice Mug.

I found a black one at another Target. I filled it with Col Conk Amber, and shave with it this morning with my Frank Shaving 24 mm Best Badger. The mugs is just as nice as the Old Spice in use, looks great, and is priced right at $1.99 each.

Although I ended up using large puck of Col Conk, it was slightly too big. It didn't matter though as I melted the soap to fit. VDH Luxury Unscented was a perfect fit though.

I went shopping yesterday at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and bought several mugs/bowls to go along with the shaving soaps I am going to give to my son, and sons-in-law this xmas season. The price was definitely right as in less than one dollar up to two dollars.

I shaved with this mug again this morning, using an ACE 24 mm Silvertip and the it is still clearly a great size mug for 24 mm and smaller brushes.

Later this week I'll use a Whipped Dog 22 mm Black Badger just to change things up.

Hahahahaha! I thought the same thing! I found some nice mug type things at World Market. I got a pretty neat one with no handle for a couple bucks...

I have a couple of soup mugs I got from walmart pretty cheap that I like, a little bigger, But they've been retired since I bought my scuttle.
