The plan: A Semogue 1305 with a proper handle!

Have always liked the Semogue 1305 but despised the painted handle. So decided to finally contact Rudy Vey about cloning it in resin and transplanting the knot. He’s done it before and sent me a photo example of his previous work. Seriously excited!

Very nice. The Semogue 830 knot is quite similar to the 1305, with an acrylic handle. Also, the 1250 is slightly firmer than the 1305, with a plain wooden handle and undyed bristles.

I have a 1250 and like it.
Its just the paint on the 1305 that inevitably bubbles and chips but I love the color combo and shape.

830, and 1305 are the same knot. Just different handles.

I managed to chip off a ton of paint on my Semogue Italian Barber LE by doing the soaking it a couple of days break-in method (the bit of the handle that was touching the water chipped off, since I wasn't careful to just immerse the knot in the mug)...yeah, painted handles really have downsides. It's a lovely brush, when you look at it from the un-chipped side at least, but I hesitate to use it now because I'm worried the rest will chip off.
