W.T.F. mang. You are certifiable.

Anybody who cuts their tuna sandwich into matching halves is of dubious moral character, and probably had a hand in Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance.

If you don't cut your tuna sandwiches in half diagonally, you hate America.

Why do you hate America?

Sing it Brother Baloosh!
Non-diagonal cutters are also often cross-dressers as well. Proven fact. You could look it up....

Here at Casa Daddy, my recipe is:
Starkist Tuna in water
Hellmann's Mayo
Finely diced celery, one whole rib
Salt and Pepper
Multigrain bread, toasted
Green Leaf Lettuce
Slice of Joisey Tomato

CUT ON DIAGONAL

Serve with Claussen pickle spear and potato chips

Costco brand Solid Albacore in water
Wonder Bread
Best Foods Mayo (known as Hellman's East of the Rockies)
Dijon Mustard
Chopped Celery
Dill Pickle Relish (must be dill, not sweet)
Salt, pepper
and very importantly, Cayenne pepper.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

My absolute favorite tuna sandwich:

Mix chunk or solid white tuna (in water) with Dijon mustard, Best Foods mayo, salt, and pepper. Spread on toasted sourdough with a slice of Swiss cheese and thick cut tomatoes.

Sometimes, I'll add extra salt and a few heavy dashes of good quality curry powder. It is a really nice change of pace... if you haven't tried it, give it a shot.

I've tried the sweet curry powder in my sammiches a few times. Pretty good.

Starkist chunk light in water is my choice. I can tell the difference between it and chicken of the sea. 2.5 teaspoons of light mayo (Kraft or Hellman's, whatever's on sale, do like Hellman's better). Only buy wheat bread, so my sammiches are on wheat bread. Sea salt and pepper.

Tried making my own tuna melt once.... didn't much care for it that way. Tuna and cheese don't go together for me.

ouch

If you don't cut the sandwich in half diagonally, you'll make the baby Jesus cry.

Bumble Bee solid white in oil

Minced shallot or yellow onion
Bottled sweet peppers or freshly roasted red pepper
Good Italian bread (closed) or toasted Thomas' English muffin (open)
Egg cream

Egg Cream?????
Now that's something you don't hear of every day.

I love a good egg cream...Can't get them up this way...:frown:

starkist in water
hellmans mayo
relish
boiled egg

slice of lettuce, can be substituted for bean sprouts
white wonder bread...if there is no bread in the house spread it on the cheapest saltines i can find

what is egg cream?

Bumble Bee chunk light mixed with chunk white Albacore (packed in water)
Vegenaise (non-dairy, and I think it tastes better than mayonnaise)
Diced Claussen dill pickles
Sourdough bread
Iceberg lettuce

Sometimes add mustard and sliced celery.

I don't know if this has been covered already, but I'll have a go at it. If your version is comprised of a pan seared, raw on the inside, maguro grade slab of fresh tuna served on a crostini and topped with baby greens and a homemade aioli, then this thread isn't for you. I'm talking about the classic- canned tuna, done your way.

Which brand do you choose?
Solid white, chunk, or tonno in olive oil?
Bread?
Open faced?
Are you a Hellman's man, or a barbarian.
What are your mandatory accompaniments?

Cheap albacore, bumblebee if I feel rich
mayo
fresh ground pepper
garlic salt
onion powder

put on 12 grain bread

if I am fancy, it would be albacore, thinly sliced celery, diced shallot, diced garlic mayo on bread.

You guys are funny. I make it different every time. It just depends on what I want at the moment and what I have in the fridge at the time.

Canned Tuna packed in water.
Best Foods Mayo
chopped celery
chopped red onion
chopped dill pickle
salt and pepper
sliced sourdough...toasted.

+1 Makes a great sandwich. I do tend to add a pinch of Cajun Seasoning as I like things a bit warm. Gotta have the onion and celery! Sometimes I add a slice of American cheese too!

Albacore in water
Blue Cheese dressing instead of mayo.
Celery
Onion
bit of pickle
salt and white pepper
Toasted Sourdough bread cut into quarters.............oops. Thats for my Daughter

I am gonna try the Old Bay, tho. Looks good.

White tuna in spring water
Hellman's mayo
salt (kosher or fleur de sel)
fresh ground black pepper
Finely chopped pickle - I like to use French-style cornichons
Finely chopped celery
Finely chopped onion

My quickie recipe takes the following shortcuts

Relish instead of pickle (I prefer dill relish, but the sweet stuff works as well)
Celery salt instead of celery and salt
No onion

My local deli makes a damn good tuna - high quality white tuna, seasoning (largely salt and pepper) a tiny bit of may and a small amount canola oil - the great thing about this recipe is that its actually healthy, as there's almost no mayo or oil, yet it has the same texture that you generally get with an all-mayo version.

At the risk of being drowned, stoned, drawn and quartered then burned at the stake, I will say that I've never had a tuna sandwich.

I have been known to eat tuna salad straight from the bowl or on crackers, made with:

What's on hand
Miracle whip
salt & pepper
yellow/brown/dijon (any or combination) mustard
dill relish
cayenne pepper (sometimes)
