The Natural Soap Company

Right,

I was staying in a country hotel in Wales and in all the bathrooms they had these small soaps made by said company. In short, the soaps were all very luxurious. So on getting back to civilisation I did some research into the company and found out that they made two shaving soaps. I've been using Proraso for a while now and fancied a change so bought their West Indian Bay and Lime shave soap. It comes in this well packaged, hand thrown dish and smells great. I couldn't wait to try it out. Unfortunately it was very difficult to make into a lather and deteriorated on the face very quickly. So annoyingly a very disappointing shave. However, I shall persevere untill I make a good lather because I really want this to be a good soap.

I shall post again with futher results. In the meantime here's the website:http://www.naturalsoap.co.uk/index.htm

I think may people give up after one or two tried on great soaps. Someday, someday I will make a good lather with Williams.

I've emailed them asking if they use olive oil as the primary fat in their shaving soap. I suspect they do, which would explain why your lather was so disappointing.

They also mention tallow on their site. They've elected to move away from tallow-based soaps "unless specifically asked otherwise." So I've also inquired if they would make a tallow-based shaving soap and if so, how many tubs they'd require at a minimum.

Will keep you gentlemen posted. Thanks for the info about this company! :thumbup1:
