The natural pre-finishers

Do you use natural hones before the finishing hone.
If yes:

What are your favorite/-s natural prefinishers?
Between what hone do you use them?

Coticules, bbw or a hard fine washita. They'll all go from bevel set to pre finish(maybe finish on them in a pinch of they are good specimens of stone).

Edit: I'll add Cretan/ turkey stone to that list as well. Grecian llyn Idwals are also fantastic for this.
